Welcome newbies xxx

Hot on the success of my week of not eating sarnies I thought I’d do a Saturday night blog post to say thank you and hello to all the new followers that have stopped by this week!!

HELLO!!!

I’ve had a great week, which started off last Saturday night with a messy one!! The Dazzler and I didn’t get in till 7am which is NOT my usual Saturday night I can tell you, I even danced on a podium, something I haven’t done for about 8 years (I’m no gym bunny!!)

I suppose you could credit the change in how I feel to deciding to rejoin the rat race and then finding the most wonderful company to do it with!! Most of the management team are off to Glastonbury next weekend (yes it’s That type of place and I love it!!) and I’m preparing us for an office move to central Brighton, which I’m soooo excited about. I can’t wait to say I work just up from the beach!! But I’m getting ahead of myself…

For those of you who’ve just joined let’s bring you up to speed….

I started life 42 years ago as a bundle of joy who could talk, walk and even read before I stopped wetting the bed. Fast forward 18 years thru an idyllic childhood spent on the Hampshire, Dorset borders (i was a total drama queen but thats a whole different blog post) and I left home to move first to Southampton, then to Bournemouth and eventually to London via 3 years at Oxford!!

The London Years. The best thing about the London years was meeting The Dazzler who is my soul mate, best friend and now civil partner. There is lots more to tell involving, DJing in a bear bar, organising Chubcrawls, travelling home on Sunday mornings via Trafalgar Square (always a thrill), several careers, meeting my neice and nephew for the first time and lots of fun but this is a potted tour.

My Commuter Hell. About 6 years ago we decided we’d had enough of the big smoke and relocated to Brighton. We found a place we liked arranged the move and justified that I could still commute to London ‘until I found a Brighton Job’ yeah right that went well. Basically I slept in Brighton!!

The Brighton Boys 5 years and a nervous breakdown later I realised that I was never going to get a job in Brighton, whilst I was working in London so we gave it all up, used our savings to buy Lulu and started LickyLikey, our vintage ice cream business. It was at this time that’s also started blogging, first about the business, the later about my love of food, life, the universe and everything.

A year later and I realised that we needed me to get a job if we wanted to give Lulu the love she deserved so I started looking. 2 weeks later I found my dream job, seriously, and you will never believe where…. Only on bloody brighton gumtree!! So here we are, doing a job I love, with fab people and at weekends I get to make people smile with ice cream. I also get to share my ramblings here with you dear friends.

So my advise to you, is never say never, eat well and be Flabulous!!
