As you know I spent Friday night baking and blogging in preparation for yesterday’s birthday celebrations.
The day was amazing, and even though we drove through torrential rain, the sun came out to play for the whole party, meaning we could spend it in the garden….
The food was Flabulous, with quiches and meats and salad items galore. (That was the adult table) unfortunately I was too busy taking pics of family to photo the food, with the exception of this beauty….
This was the octonauts inspired octopus birthday cake my sister in law and brother made together and it truly was sensational. It was a real crowd pleaser, with a Mary Berry Victoria Sandwich inside which tasted as good as it looked!! My nephew was certainly impressed…
The party was fabbifun and we got loads of time to catch up with family. My cupcakes were appreciated, with lots of nice comments from everyone, especially the chocolate fudge!! Then one of the mums came up to me and said she thought my cake was gorgeous, so moist and that if I ever wanted a job….
I giggled thinking, oh well it could be a party booking if we ever moved down.
It was only later when we were talking about the day that my mum told me that my flatterer, together with her husband manning front of house, was only chef/owner at one of my favourite restaurants back home. To say I was flattered was an understatement!! Lets just say it made my day, and a day later Im still smiling!!
Not bad for a DBag that didn’t even taste what he baked!!
